Dairygold Beef Expo | “Beef in Uncertain Times – The Facts”

Dairygold Co Op is holding a Beef Expo at Corrin Mart, Fermoy on Sept 12th at 7pm.

As the Winter Season fast approaches we again have our Dairygold Beef Expo at Corrin Event Centre, Fermoy.

At our Expo we will have Sean Coffey, C.E.O. Kepak, giving us some insights from a processors point of view on what the markets demands. Sean has worked at all levels of the business and has extensive knowledge of what the processor requires. Kepak will also have their Grading Manager present to grade cattle, demonstrating using live cattle in the main cattle ring and explain what stage each animal is at. Dairygold Nutritionist Colman Purcell will speak on the nutritional requirement of each animal. Continental and Friesian cross cattle will be examined.

Joe Burke Bord Bia Beef and Livestock sector manager will talk on the beef market and prices prospects for the coming season. He will have many insights as to what is required for finishers.

Doreen Corridan will give some timely hints on animal health and welfare for the autumn/winter period. She will give up to date advice on what beef farms should be doing over this period to get the best production levels from your cattle of all ages.

Liam Stack and Colman Purcell, both Dairygold Nutritionists will be on hand to provide fodder clinics and give advice on filling the fodder gap this winter. Our team of ASM’S will also be available from 5pm.

On the evening we will also have various stands including many breed societies and many animal health companies who will only be too happy to advise you on products to drive performance on your farm. Other interested parties will also have stands on the evening.

Demos will begin at 5 pm with light refreshments available from 6.15pm. Speakers will begin at 7 pm

We will have a “Guess the weight of bullock” competition for a major prize.
