Dairygold Quality feeds Lombardstown have designed, Autumn Extend, specifically with the late lactation challenges in mind.
Autumn Extend
– contains Agolin, a plant extract that has been proven in Irish Autumn grazing trials to increase milk output by 0.8kg per day or 0.06kg milk solids per day.

Autumn Extender contains Agolin, a plant extract that has been proven in many studies to increase milk solids output through its effects on the rumen. But as with a lot of feed additives a lot of the trials have been done in intensive TMR-type situations. To find out what Agolin has to offer the Irish dairy farmer, Dairygold carried out its own trials in Teagasc, Moorepark.
These trials confirmed that the product performs well in a typical Irish grass production system with economically important improvements in milk solids output.
When Agolin was included in Autumn, a statistically significant 0.06kg increase in milk solids was found. This was a very significant result because it was achieved at grass on very low levels of concentrate unlike many products that are trialled in intensive TMR-type situations.
Autumn Extend, through its inclusion of Agolin, is proven to drive profitability in a grass-based system and this is why the product remains so popular with our customers.
